Fusion Production makes its debut at Autodesk’s “Factory of the Futureâ€
Last week, I had the opportunity to be at Autodesk’s newly launched Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Birmingham, UK, where we officially introduced a groundbreaking new tool in our manufacturing suite: **Autodesk Fusion Production**. The AMF is the perfect stage for such a launch—it's a cutting-edge space equipped with the latest technologies and tools designed to drive smart manufacturing forward.
At the AMF, we act as a testing ground for advanced manufacturing solutions, collaborating with customers to solve complex challenges using innovative techniques like generative design, additive manufacturing, and augmented/virtual reality. Now, with the introduction of Fusion Production, we're taking that vision even further.
Fusion Production is a cloud-based platform that integrates production scheduling, job tracking, and CNC machine monitoring through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). It offers a unified, real-time view of the entire production process, making it easier for design, manufacturing, and operations teams—whether on-site or remote—to collaborate seamlessly. This tool also allows data to flow more efficiently from upstream processes, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing.
We first announced Fusion Production last November at Autodesk University in Las Vegas, as part of our mission to make smart manufacturing accessible to all. With access via browser or mobile app, it brings transparency and control to every step of the production cycle.
One of the key features of Fusion Production is its integration with the Forge platform, which helps build a connected manufacturing ecosystem. For instance, we can automate the transfer of data from PowerMill directly into Fusion Production, allowing machines to start right from within the app. Such automation not only streamlines workflows but also minimizes the risk of human error, paving the way for more autonomous and efficient operations.
During my time at the AMF, I had the chance to speak with several customers who were particularly impressed by the ability to collect and feed back data across different stages of production. Many shared that this level of integration was something they had struggled to achieve with existing tools. Now, they can analyze their current performance, spot bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to boost productivity.
It's an exciting moment for the manufacturing industry, and we’re proud to be helping our customers take meaningful steps toward smarter, more connected production. There’s still a lot ahead, and we’re just getting started.
