Fusion Production makes its debut at Autodesk’s “Factory of the Futureâ€
Last week, I had the opportunity to be at Autodesk’s newly launched Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Birmingham, UK, where we officially introduced a groundbreaking addition to our manufacturing portfolio: **Autodesk Fusion Production**. The AMF is an ideal setting for such a launch—it’s a cutting-edge technology hub equipped with the latest tools and machinery designed to support smart, modern manufacturing.
At the AMF, we work closely with customers to solve complex challenges using advanced techniques like generative design, additive manufacturing, and augmented and virtual reality. Now, with the introduction of Fusion Production, we’re taking this vision even further. This cloud-based solution integrates production scheduling, job tracking, and CNC machine monitoring through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), offering a unified platform that streamlines operations from design to execution.
Fusion Production was first announced last November at Autodesk University in Las Vegas as part of our mission to make smart manufacturing accessible to all. Available via browser or mobile app, it gives real-time visibility into production status for design, manufacturing, and operations teams—regardless of their location. It also allows seamless data sharing across departments, bridging the gap between design and production.
One of the key features of Fusion Production is its integration with the Forge platform, which enables the creation of a fully connected manufacturing ecosystem. For instance, we can automate the flow of data from PowerMill directly into Fusion Production, allowing machines to start right within the app interface. Such automation not only improves efficiency but also reduces the risk of human error, bringing a new level of autonomy to the shop floor.
During my time at the AMF, I had the chance to speak with several customers who were particularly impressed by the ability to collect and feed back data throughout the production process. Many shared that they had struggled with this before, relying on fragmented systems. With Fusion Production, they can now analyze performance, spot bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to boost productivity.
As the manufacturing industry continues to evolve, we’re excited to be leading the charge with tools that empower our customers to embrace smart, connected workflows. There’s still so much more to come, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Fusion Production will transform the way people work in the future.
