Baiye Auto Parts City grabs billions of industrial "cakes"

Recently, it was revealed at the Forum of Presidents of the National Association of Automobile Maintenance Trade Associations in Dongguan that the city has over 3,000 companies operating in the automotive aftermarket and a car ownership of 1.5 million, forming a market valued at nearly 10 billion yuan. This has created a huge opportunity for growth, often referred to as a "big cake." In addition, the upcoming Dongguan Baiye International Auto Parts City is set to launch by the end of this year. Designed to integrate the local auto aftermarket and capture a share of the booming industry, it's expected to become a major player in the sector. According to Li Xincheng, vice chairman of the Dongguan Automobile Maintenance Industry Association and chairman of Dongguan Baiye International Auto Parts City, while Dongguan’s automotive aftermarket is ahead of the Pearl River Delta region in terms of scale and demand, the auto parts industry has long been dominated by street-level markets. These traditional models face significant challenges. First, management is outdated, with disorganized operations and poor customer service. Second, there is a lack of essential infrastructure, such as storage, office space, and parking. Third, traffic congestion and chaotic layouts make the environment noisy and stressful, creating difficulties for both customers and suppliers. To address these issues, Li emphasized the need for a modern logistics platform that can efficiently manage large-scale operations. With this in mind, Dongguan Baiye International Auto Parts City has emerged as a solution. The project has a total investment of 200 million yuan and covers over 150,000 square meters, making it the first and only super-modern auto parts city in Dongguan. It is considered the largest professional auto parts market in South China, offering more than 700 trading stalls and over 30,000 square meters of integrated facilities including living, leisure, office, and logistics areas. Its strategic location places it at the heart of the city’s planned gold auto trade zone, surrounded by around 100 auto trade centers and 4S stores. Li Xincheng shared that the city has drawn inspiration from Japan’s successful automotive aftermarket model. It incorporates advanced planning based on new concepts such as auto parts, accessories, car beauty, repair, and shopping experiences. The market also includes global trade, exhibitions, and information services, significantly enhancing its value. By surpassing traditional after-sales business models, it offers a one-stop shopping experience for modern auto parts, setting trends in South China’s auto industry. The ultimate goal, according to Li, is to build Dongguan Baiye International Auto Parts City into an international automotive logistics platform. It aims to become the "Dongguan Price" window for the national auto industry and a brand market driving the upgrade and transformation of the South China auto parts sector.
