Jilin Petrochemical catalyst mechanical loading efficiency
For the first time, the Jilin Petrochemical Ethylene Glycol Plant has implemented an innovative approach by adopting a domestic advanced "Beijing principle" to develop and apply the mechanical catalyst packing technology independently created by Equipment Maintenance Co., Ltd. This new method is used to refine and dispense imported barrel-packed catalysts, significantly reducing labor input and greatly enhancing operational efficiency.
The catalysts used in the plant’s ethylene glycol unit are originally packed in large barrels. Before being loaded into the reactor, each reactor tube must be filled with an equal amount of small bags. This process involves dividing over 50 tons of catalyst into more than 9,570 individual portions. Previously, this massive task was done manually, which was both time-consuming and inefficient.
The newly introduced sub-equipment offers advanced functionality, ensuring even distribution and accurate measurement, which reduces the need for manual weighing and minimizes workload. Thanks to this system, the plant can now complete what once took a full week in just two and a half days, demonstrating a major leap in productivity and operational effectiveness. This technological upgrade not only improves efficiency but also sets a new standard for catalyst handling in the industry.
