Recently, the first flat graphite grounding material in China independently developed by the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau was successfully applied to the transmission line tower grounding network. This replaces conventional grounding materials and resistance-reducing measures such as metal grounding materials, resistance-reducing agents, grounding modules, and ion-grounding bodies, and is applicable to a variety of topography, landforms, and soil conditions. This not only significantly reduces the life cycle cost of the grounding network, but also protects the environment. Efficient, with good economic and social benefits.

For a long time, transmission lines have suffered from serious problems such as serious corrosion of the grounding wire of the transmission line tower, excessive grounding resistance, and the risk of theft of the ground lead wire. For example, traditional round steel materials are generally heavily rusted and the grounding resistance is excessive for 3 to 5 years. In addition, the existing resistance-reducing agents not only have high cost, lack of long-term effectiveness, but also easily lose water and cause pollution to groundwater and soil.

In response to the above problems, the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau boldly practices and continues to tackle technological innovations. It has carried out more than 300 indoor simulations and outdoor real-world tests, and developed flat graphite grounding materials over a period of more than one year. It has many advantages, not only good electrical conductivity, strong corrosion resistance, high drop resistance, but also flexible non-metallic materials, easy to transport and construction, and not easily stolen.

At present, the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau uses this new material to reform Shenzhen Grid’s grounding network with excessive grounding resistance and severe corrosion.
