Beijing, China, January 8, 2008 – Lyme Electronics, a global leader in isolated current and voltage measurement components, has unveiled Sentinel, the most advanced smart battery monitoring sensor available today. Designed specifically for backup power systems, Sentinel offers comprehensive monitoring of individual battery parameters, including voltage, internal resistance, and internal temperature. This level of precision helps significantly enhance the lifespan, performance, and reliability of backup power solutions used in critical applications such as industrial UPS systems, telecommunications infrastructure, safety-critical environments, and data centers.
Currently, Lyme’s battery monitoring sensors are already in widespread use across various industries. The Sentinel system is built around a custom intelligent SoC (System-on-Chip) that processes signals and communicates via a digital S-Bus interface. In backup power setups, a single failing battery can lead to system-wide failure, compromising uptime and operational continuity. With Sentinel, users can detect potential issues early by monitoring key metrics like voltage, current, and internal resistance, allowing for timely replacements and ensuring consistent system reliability.
Temperature monitoring is another critical feature, helping engineers maximize battery life and prevent dangerous thermal runaway conditions before they escalate into catastrophic failures. Beyond the sensor itself, Lyme Electronics is also launching the MicroGuard, a cost-effective on-site monitoring unit, and the MicroGuard-PCB, which can be embedded directly into OEM equipment. Additionally, the company provides PC-based software for analyzing battery data, offering a complete monitoring solution.
Nigel Scott, Business Development Manager at Lyme Electronics, commented: “More and more customers are recognizing the value of continuous battery monitoring. It not only lowers maintenance costs but also prevents costly and dangerous failures. Our aim is to deliver the most comprehensive battery monitoring system at an affordable price—something that was previously out of reach for many due to high costs, often accounting for 50% to 70% of total battery expenses.â€
Cylinder Liner For MITSUBISHI
The Cylinder Liner is a cylindrical part that is placed in the cylinder block hole of the body and is secured by the cylinder head. The piston reciprocates in its inner hole and is cooled by cooling water outside.
The functions of the cylinder liner are:
1. Together with the cylinder head and piston, it forms the cylinder working space.
2. The cylinder liner of the cylinder piston diesel engine is the lead of the reciprocating movement of the piston, which is subjected to the side thrust of the piston.
3. The heat of the piston assembly and itself is transferred to the cooling water to make the working temperature appropriate.
4. The cylinder liner of a two-stroke diesel engine is arranged with an air port, which is opened and closed by a piston to realize gas distribution.
During engine operation, the cylinder liner may encounter several problems:
First, they can crack or leak due to overheating or excessive pressure, leading to compression loss and reduced engine performance.
Second, over time, the cylinder liner may wear or scratch, leading to poor seal of the Piston Ring, resulting in a slow increase in fuel consumption.
Finally, incorrect cylinder liner installation can result in misaligned pistons, causing serious engine damage.
Regular inspection and maintenance of the cylinder liner is essential to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
