14mm spoke wheel assembly developed successfully at China National Heavy Duty Truck
Recently, in line with the group company's overall strategy, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. successfully completed the development of a 14mm spoke wheel assembly. This achievement marks a significant step forward in enhancing the performance and durability of truck wheels.
To meet growing market demands for more reliable and longer-lasting wheels, the company conducted extensive market research and decided to upgrade the spoke size from 12mm to 14mm starting November 1st. The new 14mm design features a thicker web structure, which significantly improves the mechanical strength and fatigue resistance of the wheel. This change is expected to extend the service life of the product and improve its overall reliability.
In order to ensure timely market launch on November 1st, the Wheel Plant and the Technical Center at China National Heavy Duty Truck worked around the clock during the National Day holiday. Engineers collaborated to finalize the product design, streamline production processes, and prepare all necessary tooling and molds. From initial design to final production, the entire process was completed within less than a month, and the product passed rigorous industry performance tests.
The Technical Quality Division played a key role in planning each stage of the production process, while the Production Section ensured smooth workflow and efficient resource allocation. The Equipment Division focused on completing the tooling mold reconfiguration on time. With strong support from the technical team, the company managed to produce the first batch of finished products within just 20 days.
The product underwent radial fatigue and bending fatigue tests at designated inspection stations across the country. These tests, conducted by the Technical Center and testing facilities, confirmed that the 14mm spoke wheel assembly not only meets but exceeds national standards—reaching 9 times the required performance level. This high standard ensures the product’s quality and reliability, making it suitable for heavy-duty truck applications.
This successful development and rapid deployment of the 14mm spoke wheel assembly demonstrates CNHTC's commitment to innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. It also reinforces the company's position as a leader in the Chinese heavy truck industry.
