Autodesk to Help U.S. Government Tame Its Largest Energy Consuming Facility

**Public Company Information:** NASDAQ: ADSK **SAN RAFAEL, Calif… February 2, 2016** — Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) has just announced that its Federal Solutions Team and Autodesk Consulting have successfully secured a $1.2 million research contract from the Air Force Research Lab Advanced Power Technology Office (AFRL-APTO). This contract aims to showcase a Rapid Energy Modeling (REM) solution for buildings located at Tinker Air Force Base (Tinker AFB) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tinker AFB, home to the heavy industrial Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, recently reported progress toward significant energy savings in 2015. Future initiatives for the Tinker Energy Team will focus on improving energy efficiency in both buildings and infrastructure. **Streamlining the Energy Audit Process** The REM approach simplifies preliminary energy assessments by offering valuable insights based on a building's construction, geometry, and local climate conditions. This results in a detailed 3D model of the USAF installation, complete with buildings and infrastructure. The REM analysis visually represents energy consumption and identifies retrofit measures that could lead to the most substantial reductions in energy usage. At Tinker AFB, this demonstration will leverage Autodesk’s REM technology to assist Air Force facility energy managers in swiftly evaluating energy consumption and prioritizing buildings and measures to cut down on energy demand and costs. The REM project sets a benchmark for how the Department of Defense can efficiently evaluate energy usage across all its facilities, which span over 845,000 buildings across 800 bases and 4,127 defense sites. Under the Air Force Alternative Energy Program, AFRL is committed to identifying and showcasing solutions that enhance the Air Force's energy standing. Lowering energy costs and boosting energy security are key priorities for the U.S. Government, which has mandated that each agency promote energy conservation, efficiency, and management within buildings while reporting on energy usage regularly. “A validation project conducted by the Department of Defense revealed that Autodesk’s REM approach was approximately 96% less costly than conventional, more labor-intensive energy auditing methods,” stated Emma Stewart, director of Sustainability Solutions at Autodesk. “Autodesk’s REM technology empowers the Air Force to gain a clear understanding of energy usage across all facilities and helps identify ways to decrease overall energy consumption.” To learn more about the Department of Defense’s validation project involving Rapid Energy Modeling and Autodesk, click [here](link-to-source). **About Autodesk** Autodesk aids individuals in envisioning, designing, and creating a better world.
