Introducing the new, expanded Autodesk Entrepreneur Impact Program
**By: Jake Layes**
Back in 2009, Autodesk introduced the Cleantech Partner program as a means to offer cutting-edge design tools to pioneering startups and innovators in the green and cleantech sectors. Initially, we provided our design software to over 100 companies across the U.S. and Europe. Fast forward six years, and that number has skyrocketed to over 3,000 startups worldwide, spanning regions like North America, Europe, Israel, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. They’ve all signed up to leverage our technology for designing and creating sustainable solutions.
As we look toward the future, we’re broadening our horizons beyond conventional markets and traditional cleantech sectors. This evolution prompted us to rebrand the program into the Autodesk Entrepreneur Impact Program—a name that better reflects our commitment to fostering innovation across diverse industries.
This revamped initiative invites entrepreneurs globally who are dedicated to creating positive environmental or social impacts to apply for access to our digital prototyping, engineering, and fabrication software. Over the last six years, the world has transformed dramatically. The cleantech sector has matured, renewable energy costs have plummeted, and multinational corporations are increasingly integrating clean technologies into their core strategies. Technological advancements have surged, making access to such tools more accessible than ever before. Meanwhile, the millennial workforce has surpassed previous generations, placing sustainability and climate concerns at the forefront of global priorities.
Today’s generation of empowered entrepreneurs isn’t merely building businesses—they’re pioneering solutions that can scale globally while addressing pressing environmental and social challenges. From energy and mobility to the built environment, water management, waste reduction, healthcare, and resource optimization, these trailblazers are designing for scalable, positive impact. It’s not limited to the U.S. or Europe anymore; the movement spans the globe. For instance, Forbes highlighted how Africa’s emerging crop of young entrepreneurs is reshaping the continent. Similarly, China is investing heavily in building a sustainable future, offering support to local innovators nationwide.
We’re witnessing a seismic shift where a small group of entrepreneurs can now disrupt entire industries. Breakthroughs often happen in small startups within sectors focused on environmental and social good. These entrepreneurs are reimagining everything from energy production to waste management, aiming to make the world a better place through scalable innovations.
We’ve observed explosive growth among grassroots organizations in regions like Africa, Southeast Asia, and India. Through this expanded program, we’re giving these groups access to the same powerful Autodesk tools used by major corporations. We’ll also provide additional training and support to those with the greatest potential for impact.
