High angle rescue in Deerfield
This just in from Deerfield: Around 1:30 PM today, emergency services got a call about a window washer who was stuck high up near the top of a seven-story building on 520 Lake-Cook Road. As soon as they heard about it, they sent out a full alert for backup from multiple fire departments. When the first crew arrived, they saw a guy hanging upside down, about six feet below the roof. Things got serious fast, so they called for even more specialized rescue teams.
The Deerfield Truck 20 team moved super quickly. They parked just right by the building and extended their aerial ladder all the way up to where the worker was stuck. The firefighters climbed up there and managed to untangle the poor guy from his harness. They brought him down safely without any injuries—lucky break for sure!
We’ve got some photos coming in from different people at the scene, but unfortunately, none of them captured the moment before he was rescued. Here’s one of him looking okay after the ordeal, talking to a cop. There’s also another shot of him being helped into an ambulance just to make sure everything's fine.

I’ll keep you updated once we get more pictures and details. This kind of situation could have ended much worse, so it’s great to hear that everyone involved is doing alright. Stay tuned for more!
