Delphi Diesel Injector Production Base Breaks Ground in Yantai, China
On October 11, 2012, the Delphi Automotive Systems held a grand foundation stone laying ceremony for the Yantai production base of the Delphi diesel engine management system in Yantai, Shandong Province. The establishment of the production site marks Delphi's further investment in the Chinese market and will enable Delphi to better serve its rapidly growing Asian customer base.
The initial investment in the Yantai production base of the Delphi diesel engine management system is approximately US$100 million (approximately RMB 643 million).
Delphi is a global leader in automotive electronics and technology, and has long-term cooperation with Yantai City and Fushan District Government. Previously, Delphi had 2,800 employees in its electronic and electrical architecture system production base in Fushan District, Yantai City. With the establishment of a Yantai production base for a diesel engine management system, Delphi will add about 500 employees locally.

Delphi's diesel engine management system production base in Yantai will mainly produce high-precision diesel fuel injection system components. Delphi Diesel Technology, with its unique control strategy, allows diesel fuel injection systems to provide accurate fuel supply throughout the vehicle's life cycle for optimal emissions control and noise reduction performance. The production base is scheduled to be put into production by the end of 2013. Delphi's Suzhou production base will provide the engine electronic control module (ECM) for Yantai diesel engine management system production base.
