Platinum-rhodium thermocouples work on the principle that when a platinum-rhodium thermocouple is joined by a conductor of two different components, when the temperature of the two junctions is different, a thermal current is generated in the loop. If there is a temperature difference between the working end of the thermocouple and the reference junction, the display meter will indicate the temperature value corresponding to the thermoelectric potential generated by the thermocouple. Platinum rhodium thermocouples are used as temperature measuring sensors. They are usually used together with temperature transmitters, regulators and display instruments to form a process control system for directly measuring or controlling fluids in the range of 0-1800 °C in various production processes. Platinum rhodium thermocouple field use matters:
1. When using the compensation wire, it must be noted that the model is matched, the polarity cannot be connected incorrectly, and the temperature of the connection end of the compensation wire and the thermocouple cannot exceed 100 °C.
2. When using a thermocouple with a large time constant to measure temperature or control temperature, although the temperature displayed by the meter fluctuates very little, the fluctuation of the actual furnace temperature may be large. In order to accurately measure the temperature, a thermocouple with a small time constant should be selected.
3. According to the wiring diagram of the instrument, after correct wiring, the meter first displays the thermocouple index number of the meter, then displays the range of the meter range, and then measures the set temperature of the digital tube in the lower row of the meter. The digital tube on the meter displays the measured temperature. .
4. The thermocouple cannot be installed in the area where the measured medium rarely flows. When measuring the temperature of the gas inside the tube with a thermocouple, the thermocouple must be installed against the flow direction and fully in contact with the gas.
5. In order to ensure sufficient heat exchange between the measuring end of the thermocouple and the thermal resistance and the measured medium, the position of the measuring point should be reasonably selected to avoid the valve.
6. According to the law of the intermediate conductor, in the actual temperature measurement application of the thermocouple, the hot end welding and the cold end open circuit are often adopted, and the cold end is connected with the display instrument through the connecting wire to form a temperature measuring system.
