The Waukegan Police and Fire Memorial Fund

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share some important updates about the Waukegan Police and Fire Memorial Fund, which was established back in 2017 by a group of dedicated officers and firefighters from our department. The primary purpose of this 501(c)(3) organization is to offer financial support to the families of our colleagues who lose their lives in the line of duty or even when they're off duty but still serving as active members.
In the unfortunate event of a loss within our ranks, the fund ensures immediate financial aid goes directly to the family. Additionally, we aim to maintain a connection with these families by providing small gifts during birthdays and Christmas. For the kids, we also plan to give more substantial presents when they graduate from 8th grade and high school. While these gestures are meaningful, our ultimate goal is to let families know they remain an integral part of our police and fire family.
Unfortunately, last year's fundraising event had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. However, we’re excited to announce that this year’s event is back! On September 9th at 7:30 PM, we’ll be hosting a night of comedy featuring Michael Winslow, best known as Sgt. “Motor Mouth†Jones from the Police Academy films, along with some fantastic friends. All ticket sales will directly benefit the fund, and we’ll also have custom Waukegan Police and Fire Memorial Fund patches available for purchase that evening. Each patch costs $10 and comes with one raffle ticket for a chance to win a stay at a Lazy Haven Cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. There are three date options available: January 10-14, January 17-21, or January 24-28. You can choose from multiple cabins to suit your preferences.
