Introducing the new, expanded Autodesk Entrepreneur Impact Program

By: Jake Layes Back in 2009, Autodesk launched the Cleantech Partner program as a means to provide cutting-edge technology to pioneering startups and innovators in the green and cleantech space. At the time, we began offering our design software to over 100 companies in the U.S. and Europe. Fast forward six years, and that number has skyrocketed to over 3,000 startups across North America, Europe, Israel, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. They've joined the program to gain access to the tools they need to design and develop sustainable solutions. As we look ahead, we're broadening our focus beyond traditional markets and sectors to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. To reflect this evolution, we've rebranded the program as the Autodesk Entrepreneur Impact Program. This expanded initiative welcomes entrepreneurs worldwide who are creating innovative solutions with a positive environmental or social impact. They can now apply for Autodesk's digital prototyping, engineering, and fabrication software. In just six years, the world has transformed dramatically. The cleantech sector has matured, renewable energy costs have plummeted, and multinational corporations are increasingly investing in sustainability initiatives. Technological advancements have accelerated, and access to these technologies has become more widespread. Meanwhile, the millennial generation has taken center stage in the workforce, while concerns about sustainability and climate change have risen to the forefront of global consciousness. Today’s entrepreneurs aren’t just building businesses—they’re designing scalable solutions with measurable positive impacts on both the environment and society. This is true not only in the U.S. or Europe but across the globe. FORBES recently highlighted how Africa's young entrepreneurs are reshaping their continent, and in China, the government is actively supporting eco-friendly innovation nationwide. We’re witnessing a seismic shift where a small group of entrepreneurs can now disrupt entire industries. Breakthroughs are happening in startups, especially in areas like energy, mobility, architecture, water management, waste reduction, and healthcare. These innovators are focused on creating impactful, scalable designs. We’ve seen grassroots movements take off in Africa, Southeast Asia, and India. With the expansion of this program, we’re giving these groups access to the same high-end Autodesk tools used by major corporations. Our goal is to identify and support entrepreneurs whose innovations have the greatest potential for lasting change. According to the EY Global Youth Entrepreneurship Survey 2015, younger generations are increasingly prioritizing purpose-driven work. This aligns perfectly with our mission to empower entrepreneurs tackling climate change and fostering a low-carbon future. Even as we gather at COP21 to discuss climate solutions, we know action starts with individuals. As Peter Drucker once said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” We’re excited to see how many entrepreneurs will step up to design solutions for climate resilience—building a better tomorrow for everyone. If you’re part of an eligible organization—less than five years old, generating under $1 million USD in annual revenue, and driving positive environmental or social impact—you could qualify for access to up to five licenses of up to three Autodesk products: Autodesk Product Design Suite Ultimate, Autodesk Fusion 360, and Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate.
