Chongqing will implement new air quality standard PM2.5 from next year

Today, Hualong.com reporter learned from the Chongqing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau that the city as the first city to be included in the implementation of the new environmental air quality standards, the monitoring of PM2.5 in the 17 monitoring points of the ambient air country network in the main city has entered the test run phase. The city will formally announce the air quality status according to the new standard on January 1 next year.

According to reports, since 2000, in order to effectively improve the quality of the atmospheric environment, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government have successively implemented the "Clean Energy" project, the "five-pronged approach" clean air project and the "Blue Sky Action" to comprehensively strengthen the coal combustion and flour. Dust pollution control, dust pollution control, vehicle exhaust pollution control. Through comprehensive measures, comprehensively strengthen air pollution prevention and control, and further improve the atmospheric environment quality of the main city.

By 2011, the air quality of the main city meets 324 days of good days, and annual average concentrations of respirable particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide have reached the national second-level standard. The air quality has risen from 31st to the 31st in 47 key cities in the country. As of November 26 this year, the number of days with good air quality in the main city area has reached 311 days, completing the annual target mission and achieving the national environmental protection model city standard.

The Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau revealed that at the 7th National Environmental Protection Conference held on December 21 last year, it was determined that starting this year, municipalities including the Chongqing Municipality and provincial capital cities, Beijing, Tianjin, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta will start Gradually implement new national air quality standards. By 2013, the scope of implementation of the new standard will be extended to 113 major environmental protection cities and national environmental protection model cities; in 2015, all cities above the prefecture level will be included; by January 1, 2016, the nation will implement new standards. After the implementation of the new standard, the "Environmental Air Standard" (GB3095-1996), which has been implemented since 1996, will also be repealed.

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, as the first city to implement the new standards, the city’s 17 national control points will implement monitoring and release of data according to the new standards by the end of December this year. Other districts and counties will be from January 1, 2016. It is implemented from the day. At present, according to the national schedule and regulatory requirements, the 17 state-controlled sites in the main city area have been fully installed and commissioned at the end of August and are now in trial operation.

The reporter learned that the new standards and the revised “Ambient Air Quality Standards” will be classified in functional areas and standards, and the basic items of pollutants and the increase of some pollutant concentration limits will change. Among them, the basic project of pollutants will increase three items of PM2.5, ozone and carbon monoxide.
