The key components of construction machinery are the foundation, support and restriction bottleneck of the development of construction machinery products. After the construction machinery has reached a certain stage, the industry's high-tech research focuses on key components such as engine, hydraulic, transmission and control technologies. Mastering and relying on high-quality, distinctive key components has become a strategy for manufacturers to seek "outstanding" strategies. Luo Baihui, a member of the association, said that the whole machine company in the industry should take the lead in forming a technology alliance to carry out technical research on key components.

Generally, there are three development paths for domestic mechanical components:

One is to choose a joint venture. However, joint ventures are not necessarily able to acquire key technologies. Foreign-funded companies rarely give away the mechanical and technological achievements they have studied for many years. Moreover, under the pattern that many technologies have been monopolized, overseas companies will not import technology into China.

The second is that Chinese companies increase their technological capabilities by taking control of overseas factories. Such examples include Zoomlion’s acquisition of CIFA Italy, Beijing No. 1 Machine Tool Plant’s acquisition of Waddry Coburg, Germany, Shenyang Machine Tool Group’s acquisition of Germany’s Heath and others. However, Chinese companies that have taken over acquisitions must go through years of development and have the appropriate capital and management experience to be able to do so.

The third is to rely on independent research and development. At present, Taiyuan Heavy Industries, which focuses on the manufacture of mining equipment, JAC Engines for the development of engine parts, Tianma shares for the production of bearings, and Axiom Technologies, are all continuously investing in the research and development of basic parts with technical content.

In addition to companies that specialize in parts and components, machine manufacturing companies have also focused on the production of core components. Because of the development of the basic components, it is not only related to the reduction of the purchase cost of the entire machine, but also reflected in other aspects.

After the high-end technology manufacturing of the basic parts is placed in China, the large number of equipment and technologies for this part will gradually mature. For example, after Liugong introduced the “Transmission Gear” joint venture production from overseas, some domestically produced castings and heat treatment technologies for gearboxes have also been fully developed.

After the complete company's supporting infrastructure components keep up, it can help the company reduce inventory and capital occupation.

Throughout the country, manufacturers of construction machinery parts and components are still busy with their own staking and competition. Although traditional machinery, such as loaders, bulldozers and other key parts and components, use their own scale and marketing methods, they have absolute competitive advantages; however, they often import key components such as paver and concrete machinery, plus years of Digestion, absorption and innovation based on the introduction of technology have resulted in path dependence; in some large-scale products, high-intelligence grade products and emerging professional products, such as 220 horsepower bulldozers, engineering rigs, etc., there is no competitiveness; especially In typical earthmoving equipment, excavators, the market share is almost surrendered due to the scarcity of control technology and key parts manufacturing technology.

Therefore, Luo Baihui, a member of the association, believes that domestic construction machinery component manufacturers need to seek breakthroughs in the following areas:

1. Localized production, shortened ordering and delivery time, production close to users, through specialized production to form a reasonable economic scale of key parts manufacturing, while ensuring the quality of parts and relying on components to achieve the company's own technical characteristics.

2. Pay attention to the integrated design of key components and the host, as well as further improve the standardization and generalization rate of components, and simplify maintenance as much as possible.

Looking at the world, industry mergers and reorganizations have intensified, and production concentration and professional production have continued to increase, making more and more companies become assembly plants. Engines, transmission systems, hydraulic systems, and control systems are basically packaged in specialized factories. Such as the production of the United States CUMMINS company, German company DEULTS production of transmission parts of the German ZF company, the United States ALLISON company, the production of hydraulic parts of the German REXROTH company, the United States SAUER companies such as the rapid development. It is within the giant companies that they are also integrating. Although Caterpillar has dozens of construction machinery plants, power shift transmissions are concentrated in the company's East Peoria plant. In this way, the box processing uses flexible production lines, flexible processing units, gear processing, planetary carrier processing, clutch housing processing, and gear heat treatment, all using highly efficient equipment. The hydraulic cylinders of each factory are concentrated at the Juliet factory, and the drive axles are manufactured at the Aurolan factory.
