This pressure difference causes the surrounding liquid to be drawn into the pump through the suction pipe. The process continues as long as the impeller keeps rotating, allowing for a continuous flow of liquid. Once the liquid leaves the impeller, it enters the volute casing. Here, the design of the casing gradually expands, slowing down the liquid’s velocity. This slowdown helps convert some of the kinetic energy into static pressure, increasing the overall pressure of the fluid. The pressurized liquid is then directed through the discharge pipe to its intended destination. The entire operation relies on the continuous rotation of the impeller, which maintains the suction and discharge cycles. This makes chemical pumps highly effective for transferring various types of liquids, including corrosive or hazardous materials, in industrial settings. Their reliability and efficiency make them an indispensable part of modern chemical processing systems.
