FPT Fiat Power Technology recently showcased five premium engines at the 2008 China International Construction Machinery, Building Materials Machinery, Engineering Vehicles and Equipment Fair (BAUMA CHINA 2008), under the theme "China-Italy Smart Power China." The exhibition took place in Hall E4, booth number 4538, and highlighted the advanced technologies and superior performance of FPT Fiat Power Technology and its joint venture, SAIC Fiat Powertrain Co., Ltd. (SFH). This event marked a significant step for FPT following the completion of its Shanghai R&D center in November 2007, demonstrating its strong commitment to the Chinese market and its strategic positioning amidst an industry-wide downturn. At BAUMA, a globally recognized platform for engineering machinery, FPT leveraged nearly a century of experience in designing and manufacturing industrial diesel engines and gearboxes. It introduced three main engine series—F, N, and C—featuring five models: F32 MNT, N45 MNS, N67 ENT, C87 ENT, and C10 ENT. These engines range from 3.2L to 10.3L in displacement, offering power outputs between 65 kW and 315 kW. They are suitable for various applications such as commercial vehicles, construction equipment, agriculture, marine, and power generation, showcasing FPT’s leadership in providing comprehensive powertrain solutions across four key sectors: automotive, industrial, marine, and power generation. The FPT booth, spanning over 200 square meters, featured visually engaging displays that highlighted the company’s long-standing expertise in developing high-performance, reliable, and environmentally friendly diesel engines. Visitors could explore the innovative architecture of the F, N, and C series, including multi-valve intake and exhaust systems, high-efficiency turbochargers, mechanical fuel injection, common rail systems, and low-emission technologies. These features underscore FPT’s position as a global leader in engine technology. Among the exhibits, the newly launched F32 MNT engine stood out as a highlight. Recognized as the "2008 Diesel Engine" by the European authoritative magazine *Diesel*, this 4-cylinder inline engine is designed for a wide range of industrial applications. It delivers 65 kW (88 hp) at 2500 rpm and 320 lbf at 1400 rpm, making it ideal for excavators, loaders, forklifts, and agricultural machinery like tractors and harvesters. Additionally, the C87 ENT (CURSOR 9) and N45 MNS/N67 ENT (NEF series) engines, developed through the Chongqing joint venture SFH SAIC Fiat Powertrain Co., Ltd., have attracted significant attention due to their advanced performance and local production background. The CURSOR 9 engine uses FPT’s common rail electronic fuel injection system, featuring BOSCH pump nozzles with twice the injection pressure of traditional inline pumps. Its VGT and fixed pressurization technology enhances power and torque, while the NEF series offers both mechanical and electronically controlled fuel injection options, ensuring efficiency and lightweight design for industrial and marine use. Since its establishment in June 2007, SFH has quickly become one of China's most innovative diesel engine manufacturers, producing engines with cutting-edge technology and environmental standards. Their product range covers 3.9L to 8.7L displacements, with power outputs from 70 kW to 294 kW and torque ranging up to 1600 Nm, meeting diverse needs in commercial and construction sectors.
