BYD pushes turbo and dual clutch transmission

In terms of traditional powertrains, Volkswagen's TSI (Turbocharged) + DSG (Double Clutch Automatic Transmission) combination of single-wheeler industry is second to none. Now, BYD, who is unwilling to do so, through analysis and research, cooperates with international manufacturers, and in the short term has also launched a similar technology combination, named TID, to challenge the technology leader represented by the general public. BYD has thus become the first domestic automaker to have both of these core technologies.

BYD's TID is "TI+DCT". Among them, T means turbo turbocharged engine, I is injection gasoline direct injection technology, D stands for DCT dual clutch automatic transmission. TID is similar to Volkswagen's TSI turbocharged direct fuel injection technology and DSG dual clutch concept, which combines the two to form a new technology concept for the engine assembly.

With the launch of BYD's 1.5TI turbocharged in-cylinder direct injection engine and DCT double clutch model, and the subsequent launch of subsequent 1.2 and 2.0 displacement TI engines, BYD will usher in its own “T” era. Under the joint efforts of new energy and TID technology, BYD has a leading edge in both traditional power and new energy.

Following S6 and G6, BYD's other displacement power systems equipped with TID technology will also be launched. It is reported that 1.2 and 2.0 displacement power systems equipped with BYD's TDI technology will be launched in succession next year, and they will be equipped on BYD's new-generation 3 Series and 6 Series models, respectively.

According to BYD technicians, the 1.5TI turbocharged in-cylinder direct injection all-aluminum engine on the BYD G6 is "turbocharged, direct injection in the cylinder, stratified combustion, variable valve timing, all aluminum alloy engine" The perfect combination of the five technologies is the leading technology in the industry.

The 1.5TI+DCT power technology onboard the BYD G6 is independently developed by BYD and has independent intellectual property rights. At the same time, the application of BYD's 1.5TID technology has not only improved the power performance of the vehicle, but also reduced the vehicle's fuel consumption. The 1.5TI engine of BYD has a rated power of 113Kw/5500rpm, a maximum torque of 240N·m/1750-3500rpm, and a power of up to 75.5Kw/L, and a boost torque of 160N·m/L. From the data, it has been compared with BYD 2.4. The natural performance of a naturally aspirated engine is comparable to that of a lifter. Compared with the Volkswagen 1.4TSI engine, the maximum power and maximum torque of the BYD 1.5TI are 17Kw and 20N·m higher, respectively.

This series of permanent-magnet synchronous gearless traction machines is directly driven by a low-speed, high-torque, 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor, and has the advantages of low energy consumption, low noises, no pollution, and little maintenance.
By using flat frame structure with three mounting surfaces, this series of traction machines can be installed on bottom floor or any middle positions or on the top of shaft way.

These traction machines can be arranged for providing upward traction or downward traction, and have remote manual brake release function. Wrap angle of the traction machines can be only 180°.
