3-Alarm fire in Stone Park, 9-5-20
This just in from the Westchester Fire Department’s Twitter account: Earlier today, Engine 25 was dispatched to a three-alarm fire in Stone Park where multiple residential buildings were engulfed in flames. The intensity of the situation required assistance from neighboring departments to bring the fire under control.
Attached is a photo provided by the Westchester Fire Department showing the extent of the damage. As you can see, the aftermath has left several apartment units completely destroyed. (Caption reads: “Westchester FD photoâ€)
Meanwhile, over on the Schiller Park Firefighters Local 5230 Twitter page, they’ve shared updates about additional support being sent to another significant fire incident. According to their post, members from Truck 5—alongside personnel from various other fire departments—are currently aiding Melrose Park in responding to a third-alarm blaze at an apartment complex located near 1822 North 36th Street. This ongoing effort highlights the collaborative nature of firefighting operations when emergencies escalate beyond the capacity of a single department.
It's clear that these brave first responders are working tirelessly to protect lives and property during challenging circumstances. Let’s hope for a swift resolution to both incidents so communities can begin rebuilding as soon as possible. Stay tuned for further developments as we continue monitoring the situation.
