2-11 Alarm fire and a Level 1 Hazmat, 9-8-22

CFD responded to a report of smoke at 7934 South Hoyne Avenue. When they arrived, firefighters discovered a large single-story commercial building engulfed in flames, measuring approximately 50 feet by 150 feet. The fire spread rapidly, forcing crews to contain it quickly. Later, due to precautionary concerns, a second-alarm status was declared along with a Level 1 Hazmat response. Multiple explosions occurred, leading to a partial roof collapse. At its peak, six master streams were deployed to combat the blaze, including two tower ladders, two deck guns, one snorkel, and one blitz.

This was quite an intense incident, with significant challenges for the firefighters involved. It's always inspiring to see how they work together under such difficult circumstances.
