MVA in Buffalo Grove, 4-4-15
This is from Larry Shapiro:
I witnessed a reported rollover with entrapment Saturday afternoon, just a block from my home. I arrived before any fire units and found a single-vehicle crash with no immediate entrapment. The car was a damaged Lexus SUV. One occupant was outside the vehicle, while the other had run about a block before being stopped by the police. Both were taken for medical evaluation — one via BLS and the other via ALS.
The reason I'm sharing these photos without any fire department involvement relates to the nature of the crash and a thought that kept going through my mind: it wasn’t their time.
The car veered off the road, hit a utility pole, then struck a metal fence post. It rolled over, crushing two sections of a wooden fence, with two 4x4 posts piercing the windshield — narrowly missing both people inside.

A few inches in either direction could have led to a much worse outcome.
