Formulation calculation of blast furnace smelting

In the blast furnace smelting, the amount of flux to be added is calculated according to the nature of the raw materials. There are two commonly used methods.

First, the effective flux method

Copper-containing slag material.

(1) Known conditions

a. The chemical composition of the copper-containing slag is 21.50% of SiO 2 , 2.20% of CaO, 14.40% of FeO, and 61.90% of others.

b. The quartz stone composition is SiO 2 92.4%, CaO 1.2%, and FeO 0.3%.

c. The limestone composition is SiO 2 1.3%, CaO 54%, and FeO 0.5%.

d. The selected slag type is 30% SiO 2 , 28% CaO, and 14% FeO.

(2) Calculation of ingredients Based on 100kg copper-containing slag

a, calculate the effective solvent rate of quartz stone and limestone

100kg quartz stone contains 1.2kg CaO, the ratio of CaO to SiO 2 in the slag is 28:30

1.2kg CaO slag requires 1.2×30/28=1.2kg SiO 2

The free SiO 2 in the 100kg quartz stone is 92.4-1.29=91.11kg, that is, the effective flux rate of the quartz stone is 91.11%.

Similarly, there are 1.3kg SiO 2 in 100kg limestone, so there are 1.3×28/30=1.2kg CaO and SiO2 slag in limestone, so the effective flux rate of limestone is (54-1.2)÷100=52.8%

b. Calculate the amount of slag and the amount of each component

The amount of slag calculated by the slag type and copper slag content is 14.4/14×100=103kg.

The amount of each component of the slag type is as follows
SiO 2 =103×0.30=30.9kg

CaO=103×0.28=28.84kg

FeO=103×0.14=14.40kg

c. Calculate the amount of additional quartz stone and limestone

The content of SiO 2 and CaO in the raw material is removed, and the amount remaining in the slag is

SiO 2 =30.9-21.5=9.4kg

CaO=28.8-2.2=26.64kg

Quartz stone flux to be added is 9.4/91.11%=10.3kg

Additional limestone flux is 26.64/52.8%=10.3kg

Therefore, the slag formation rate is 103/(100+10.3+50.5)×100%=64%

When the flux quality is stable and the amount added is not large, the effective flux rate of the quartz stone is approximately 92%, and the effective flux rate of the limestone is 53%. Can be calculated at this time

Additional quartz stone is 9.4/92%=10.21kg

Additional limestone is 26.64/53%=49.7kg[next]

Second, algebraic method

Usually used to calculate the ingredients of yellow copper and white copper smelting.

(1) Known conditions

a. The slag composition is selected to be SiO 2 30%, CaO 32%, and FeO 8%.

b. The quartz stone composition is SiO 2 92.4%, CaO 1.2%, and FeO 0.3%.

c. The limestone composition is SiO 2 1.3%, CaO 54%, and FeO 0.5%.

d. Coke contains 6.8% SiO 2 , 0.5% CaO and 1.4% FeO.

SiO 2 =0.924X+0.013Y+0.068Z (4)

Substituting equation (2) into formula (5), formula (6), formula (4) is substituted into formula (5), and formula (3) is substituted into formula (6):

Set the focal rate to 25% and solve the equation:
