Danny Gonzalez – July 21, 1964 – August 1, 2013

It is with deep sadness that the Lake Zurich Fire/Rescue Department shares the passing of Danny Gonzalez, a dedicated and respected member of our team. Danny served with the department for 13 years, joining in August 2000. His commitment to public service was evident throughout his career.

Danny was an active participant in the department’s Training and Safety Committee, where he shared his expertise by mentoring both new and experienced firefighters. He also successfully passed the lieutenant promotional exam and often stepped up as an acting officer when needed. Additionally, he served as the past President of IAFF Local 3191, showing his leadership and dedication to his fellow firefighters.

Before joining Lake Zurich, Danny began his fire service career with the South Elgin and Countryside Fire Protection District. He also had a long-standing connection with the Kane County Sheriff’s Police Correctional Division. Beyond his firefighting duties, Danny served his country as a U.S. Marine and remained involved with local veteran groups.

Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The following are the arrangements for his farewell:
